Recently, I took a mini-vacation to Washington, D.C., to visit my brother and his wife, as well as to take in the sights, sounds, and monuments aplenty in the area. D.C. is a wonderfully bustling metropolis- there sure was no shortage of tourists with cameras or street vendors hawking their goods. Below are a few snapshots from my short visit...
The outside of the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of Natural History on a gorgeous fall afternoon.
The coolest flower at the United States Botanical Garden.
And, what is a trip to D.C. without a little love for the Capitol building?
A circlet of eagles at the World War II Memorial.
Lastly, my personal favorite, is a snapshot of the work being done to repair the reflecting pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument (which is currently closed for repairs from the recent earthquake).
Have a glorious day, readers!
